Batima Conerly is the founder of Essence of Light. Since 2000, Batima and her husband Monroe have developed the transitional homes used by hundreds of men, women and children in need of temporary shelter in Los Angeles.
Batima has personal insight into what it means to be without a home; she too has spent time on the streets battling addiction.
Finding a way out of her situation, Batima encourages others to become productive members of society through training programs, counseling and ongoing support.
Batima holds a B.S in Human Services and a Masters in Counseling.
